The peacock, unafraid, stepped toward her and unfolded its tail, revealing patterns that seemed to pulse with ancient magic. According to the tales, such a peacock appeared only to those with a pure heart and a kindred spirit. Zuza understood instantly. She hurried home and began to paint capturing not just the bird’s beauty but the quiet strength in its gaze. When she finished, the peacock had vanished—but the painting shimmered faintly, as though a piece of its spirit remained.
